New Balance has hooked up with Rotterdam shop Lfstl to drop a sweet 577 in Holland. Lfstl chose to re-design the New Balance 577 because of it’s timeless character and sporty lining. It still is an all-time favorite, though hard to get in Holland.
In choosing the material Lfstl reflects their experience in designing shoes and their knowledge of true sneakers. Their favorites are also mine; gum sole, pigskin suede, black premium croc leather, white patent and perforated suede.
The sneaker will be released in August! And will immediately go on my ever lengthening list of things that I want but can't have hahaha...sigh.
Fresh on the heels of the New Balance x realMad Hectic MT580 "CMYK" comes the Vans "CMYK" pack. It consists of an Era, Sk8 Hi and Mt. Edition Mid. All three come in a flashy colors and materials. I am just biased here but I really prefer the NB silhouettes to the Vans.
The pack is now available at ABC-Mart.
As part of Nike’s Japanese City Dunk Pack, the Fukuoka Dunk will see its release this weekend. The multi-colored offering features a bold colorway with the use of patent leather and etched highlights on the heel. For those interested, the colorway pays homage to an ancient 750 year old festival titled Yamakasa which features colorful shrines. Available June 28th at select retailers in Japan.
via: Stussy.jpThe Nike LAX LA Exclusive Blazer Hi has arrived in stores. It comes in black suede with a transparent swoosh and large LAX lettering on the side panels. This is a pretty bad ass shoe.
Undefeated California locations got it in this week!
Two interesting new Nike sneakers have been released at Atmos. For women they got in the Dunk Hi Premium in black with multicolor polka dots on the upper and nice purple lacing.
They also have the Air Force 1 "Bird's Nest" in stock. The sneaker has been modeled after the new Olympic Stadium in Beijing.
The Dunk Hi comes in orange/purple, yellow/purple and green/white. The Bearbrick comes in orange with white details.
2000black’s Debut LP “A Next Set A Rockers” is dropping in August! 2000black combines the production skills of 4Hero’s Dego and Bugz in tha Attic’s Kaidi Tatham.
After many ground breaking compilations and sideline projects (”DKD” & “Silhouette Brown”) the sound of London Boogie arrives! “A Next Set A Rockers” is a genre defying collection of studio recordings demonstrating all that has influenced 2000black. Soul, Funk and Boogie are revealed in the bands very own unique style. The labyrinth of 70’s synthesizers and drums create a lavish warm feel in contrast to the current digital age. The duo’s dynamic sound is complemented by strong songs such as “Lost It” featuring the voice of Face, “So Right” with Ferraz, “Simple Sacrifice” sung by Nadine Charles, “Take It Back” with Rasiyah, plus Philadelphia’s Lady Alma on “Move Over”. It's a little hard to believe that they have quietly been making music under this moniker for 10 years!! this stuff is smooth, soulful, and vibey as all hell. Good for cocktail parties and late night after hours chill out sessions.
Release date. late July/August 2008
A new Reebok Court Victory Pump and Pump Omni Lite is about to be released. They come in a nice summer colorway, turquoise/orange/ white. I like the color combos on these sneakers. The design stays clean and crisp with great little flourishes like the checkerboard design. All in all a nice colorway for the summer.
XLarge Japan stores will be releasing the sneaker on June 20th.
The Asics Gel Lyte III has become a popular collaboration sneaker these days. The latest is with Japan's Mita Sneakers. They worked with Asics on the Kirimomi Project, which consists of two Asics Gel Lyte IIIs.
I'm really impressed with both of the colorways on this sneaker collab. I like the splashy quality of the purple shoe but the overall design and cohesiveness of the black on black shoe is the real star of this pack. Nice mix of materials and a real neck breaker for the shoe heads.
Mita will be releasing them on July 12th.
Once again Atmos gets together with New Balance as part of the 576 20th anniversary collection. The Atmos x New Balance M576 "Face Off" comes in a turquoise/black colorway with pink accents as well as lots of details including printed graphics and embroideries. I love this shoe! The graf style New Balance on the heel is sweet. The shoe changes color according to temperature! I wish I lived in Japan every time New Balance releases a show at Atmos or Mita.
We have seen it from Nike already this year and now New Balance also released its very own version of the Mexican Blanket Pack. They applied the special materials and stitching on the 576 model. It comes in a black and a grey colorway. The Mexican blanket details appear around the ankle and on the inner sole and lining. I'm not a huge fan of the toe box on this. It needs a different material or something. Colors are ok. I probably would not pick this one up.
The New Balance CM576J Mexican Blanket Pack is now available at Mita.
Rivington Club (A.R.C.) gives you a first look at their upcoming collaboration with Saucony on the Shadow 6000. Once again it is not just one sneaker, but a pack of three. All three have a white upper with accents in beige and the respective color. The tongue features an A.R.C. tag.
The A.R.C. x Saucony Shadow 6000 Pack will be released at the end of June, so keep your eyes open for the release dates.
Sneakers N Stuff from Stockholm ,is at it again and developed together with Reebok the SNS 5000.
"About a year ago Sneakers n Stuff released a sneaker that was inspired by the traditional settlers of Sweden - the Sámi people.
Now they have continued their journey through Sweden and it’s traditions and next stop is Dalecarlia. A province in the middle of Sweden best known for the Dalecarlian horse or “Dalahästen” as they say in Sweden. A wooden horse painted with a teqnique called kurbits. The horse first got carved in Sweden in the 17th century as a toy for children.
In 1939 the Dalecarlian horse represented Sweden at the New York World’s Fair and since then the horse has been a very strong symbol for the country." Via Solebox Blog.
The sneaker will be released on July 25th, is limited to 300 pairs worldwide, and will go for 110 Euros.
Format magazine has a dope interview up with my man Jack Splash of Plantlife. Go check out the interview and pick up one of the best albums of '08, Plantlife's "Time Traveller."
Download: Plantlife's "u messed it up, so we took it back..."
Here is an excerpt:
Format: You’ve worked on ton of albums including Alicia Keys’ As I Am John Legend’s Once Again, Estelle’s Shine and we will be seeing your work in upcoming works with Missy Elliott and Cee-Lo. Where would you say you have left your strongest mark and why?
Jack Splash: That’s a tough question. I don’t really like to quantify my work that way. I honestly try to make the most incredible music with every artist I work with. That’s why I turn down a lot of work because I don’t want to just be working for the check. I’ve been making good money doing exactly what I love so I want to keep it that way. Almost every song I’ve produced for the artists I worked with have their very magical moments to me.Me and Cee-Lo are like twins because we’re both bugged the fuck out and want to keep taking people higher. Alicia is just the ultimate singer songwriter and she’s so fun to work with. She’s real similar to me as far as us both being as much into hip-hop as we are other types of music. She was playing me some Janis Joplin songs before we wrote some of our songs. Same thing with Estelle, Solange, Raheem DeVaughn, John Legend and a lot of the other artists I’ve been working with. Every single one of them have magical moments that I wouldn’t trade for anything. The most important thing to me is that I have fun making the music, because at the end of the day that’s what it is really about.
