New Balance X Frontline Shop 576 Collabo

Take a gander at the upcoming Frontline Shop x New Balance 576. Designed by Lars Holzbrecher and Robin Jungermann of The Hyde, the sneaker comes in a nice mix of classic and new design. I think New Balance saw the runaway popularity of the Solebox Purple Devils and connected the dots. Solid front color combined with dark back color. It works...

It will be released next week in a limited edition of 150 pairs in the Frontlineshop Selected department .

New Balance "Chinese Opera Mask" Exclusive

New Balance just got funky on that ass like an ole batch a collard greens!!! This shit here, this shit here, this shit here!?!?!?!?! That ole shit wasn't nuthin', it wasn't nuthin'. This shit here, this shit here...
The Asian New Balance design team has already debuted the 576 Chinese Opera Pack (reviewed on Kicks-n-Jams previously right here) but now they've just mixed it up in a blender and delivered a whole new treat for your feet! Drawing on the inspired Leftover Pack theme, (check that right here) New Balance drops a limited version (576 pairs available only in Southeast Asian markets) Chinese Opera 576 that delivers a different colorway for each foot!!! I thought I loved the original opera pack but these have just sent me into paroxysms of shoe geek joy!!!
High quality materials mixed with an overall red and green colorway and combined with multiple Chinese Opera signifiers (check the tongue, mask, heel, and lace lock) set off this well thought out sneaker. STREEThing is gonna deliver an interview with the designers and I for one cannot wait to read it.

Atmos X New Balance "Face Off" 576 (great day in the morning!)

Once again Atmos gets together with New Balance as part of the 576 20th anniversary collection. The Atmos x New Balance M576 "Face Off" comes in a turquoise/black colorway with pink accents as well as lots of details including printed graphics and embroideries. I love this shoe! The graf style New Balance on the heel is sweet. The shoe changes color according to temperature! I wish I lived in Japan every time New Balance releases a show at Atmos or Mita.

Atmos will be releasing the shoe on June 27th.

New Balance 576 "Mexican Blanket Pack"

We have seen it from Nike already this year and now New Balance also released its very own version of the Mexican Blanket Pack. They applied the special materials and stitching on the 576 model. It comes in a black and a grey colorway. The Mexican blanket details appear around the ankle and on the inner sole and lining. I'm not a huge fan of the toe box on this. It needs a different material or something. Colors are ok. I probably would not pick this one up.

The New Balance CM576J Mexican Blanket Pack is now available at Mita.

New Balance X Atmos 576

Check out the upcoming project by New Balance and Atmos. The Japanese store worked on the 576. The sneaker features a nice turquoise/pink color combo and has been put through a hypercolor treatment, which makes the shoe change color according to heat. Via Sneaker Freaker.

The sneaker will be released in July.

New Balance X Tsumori Chisato Collaboration 576

Here is a CAAARRRAAZZZY New Balance Collabo!! I saw these over at Hypebeast and had ta repost 'em. In what we consider a collaboration staying true to the essence of the task at hand, New Balance's 20th anniversary of their 576 running shoe is met with high end Japanese brand Tsumori Chisato. The collaboration creates a convergence point for two differing styles of fashion, New Balance on the one hand have ingrained themselves in the ground work of sneaker culture and running elitists while TC's high end roots incorporate visually stunning prints and designs fit for the runway. Two womens 576 models are featured in this small collection, each depicting an oceanic scene. Available soon at select IT dealers in Hong Kong.

New Balance 576 Timeless Miniatures

These mini statues are designed after one of the most popular New Balance Models, the 576, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary. It says 1988-2008-2028 on the box which shows great confidence in the series. The statues don't have a release date yet.

New Balance 576 limited edition 20th Anniversary

New Balance celebrates the 20th anniversary of their iconic 576 model this year. I like this design alot. Don't know if it's for everybody but hey, what can I tell ya?! I'm odd like that.

They developed a futuristic version of the classic - the M576E. It comes in several colorways and is now available at Mita.

New Balance "Chinese Opera Mask" Pack

I MUST HAVE THIS SHOE!!!
Developed by New Balance Japan, check out "The Mask" pack.
It consists of 3 New Balance 576's, each coming in strong colors, inspired by traditional Chinese Opera masks. Embossed graphics, premium suede, patent leather, reflective 3M material, mask embroideries and many more details.
A little info about Chinese Opera. The main color in a facial makeup symbolizes the disposition of the character. The facial makeups date a long time back to the Song (960-1279) and Yuan (1271-1368) dynasties at least. Simple patterns of painted faces are found in tomb murals of that age. During the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), improvements were made in the skills of drawing and in preparing the paints, leading to the whole set of colorful facial patterns that we see in today's Jingju (Beijing Opera). The art of Bian Lian (literally translated as "face changing") is a part of Szechuan Opera dating back to the Qing Dynasty in the 18th century. Bian Lian involves very fast mask changes to signify different emotions.
Now that you're super educated about chinese masks you, like me, may ask why they didn't include a color or a mask changing capability into the shoe pack. Wouldn't that have been cool!?! It would have maintained the theme and added an element that no other shoe company has really developed yet. Colors that change due to temperature, or masks that change when they move would have really set this shoe off. This is what NB should be doing with the Ndividual pack, by the way...

New Balance 20th Anniversary 576 More Pics

Just when you thought it was safe we hit you with some new pics for a very dope shoe that New Balance is releasing in honor of their 20th anniversary. I posted about these 576s previously and had resigned myself to trying to pick them up online or via ebay. They've already been released at Mita in Japan. But now I have it on very good authority that these kicks will be available right here is the States as well!!
The shoes feature a velvet purple tongue and interior. Very nice details on the flower insole and the stitched "20th" on the heel. The gold lacelock and white sole are nice touches as well. All in all this is a shoe I'm really looking forward to. Feel free to repost these pics folks. Tell 'em kicks-n-jams hooked you up!

New Balance 20th Anniversary 576

New Balance presents another 576 20th Anniversary style. This limited edition sneaker comes with a white premium leather upper with tonal white embroidery going over the entire sneaker. On the back heel they embroidered "20th". In contrast the tongue and inner lining come in purple velvet, a perfect fit.

The sneaker has been released today at Mita.

New Balance Camo Reflective 576

I've been seeing these in the sample picks throughout '07 and they are finally here. The New Balance 576 Camo Reflective. New Balance presents a 576 with the toe box covered in 3M Silver material, giving it a reflective feature. That mixed with the black premium suede makes for a nice combination. I think the white stitching on the tongue and suede really sets off the shoe as well. Via Sneaker Freaker.

New Balance "Canvas Pack" 576

New Balance returns to a much more "classic" style with this Purple 576. For Spring 2008 they present the Canvas Pack. Here is the purple 576 that is part of the pack. A nice mix of canvas and suede accents make this a solid sneaker. Other colors will follow.

New Balance 574 & 576 Japanese niceness

While I was over at Mita checkin out the new MT576 25th anniversary sneaker, I ran across a few other very hot (and apparently Japan only) kicks. Here are a couple 574s that would fit well into any closet. Premium quality material and vibrant colors make these two shoes really pop. The white and green remind me of the NB Concept's Tannery 576 Collabo that dropped this Fall.

Plus this Atmos 576 "fujin" that I posted about previously has already sold out. I really loved the look of this sneaker but sadly I will probably never get my hands on a pair. :-(

Mita Sneakers x New Balance Thunder MT576V

OH MY GOD!!! THIS SHIT IS REALLY FREEESSSHHHH!!!!

New Balance and Mita Sneakers collaborate on an MT576V. The sneaker is a hybrid of the M576 and the MT580. It features velcro straps instead of laces (not really a velcro strap kinda guy but these aren't too bad), print on the tongue, glow in the dark features on the toe box and the logo, a purple outer sole with a special pattern and much more. This is really a lotta stuff going on in one sneaker but they pull it off nicely.
The sneaker is part of the New Balance 576 20th anniversary celebrations, which start officially in 2008. The New Balance x Atmos M576 Fujin collaboration is followed by this Mita Sneakers x New Balance Thunder collaboration. The sneaker has now been released at Mita Sneakers.

New Balance Fall '07 Releases

I just took a look at the New Balance Fall/Winter 2007 releases that have been posted at Overkill Berlin.

Here is a more detailed pic of the New Balance "Ndividual" project. Note the "N" text within the replaceable "N" logo. It's growing on me I have to admit.

They received a nice M576 with great brown leather and gold applications.

They also got two fresh WRC574 lady sneakers - one black with woven multicolored upper (kinda like your grandma's couch material) and lacquer “N”-logo; another one with bone white suede upper and glimmering gold colored material.

In addition New Balance drops two brand new models called H754 that veer dangerously close to an air jordan silhouette if Air Jordan made a hiking boot...or something. They feature waterproofed leather uppers and special lacing. The "N" logo is part of the mid material which is a new twist for NB. Not sure what I think of 'em yet but New Balance always keeps it movin' forward.

Overkill always has the dope New Balance releases.

New Balance X Hanon M576 "SMU" re-released

Just saw this at the Hanon Shop website...

The original Hanon M576 is back! This is the first ever hanon x New Balance SMU ( Special Make Up) designed and released in 2004.

Assembled at New Balance's renowned UK Flimby factory, our first collaboration featured the classic M576 running shoe remixed with a combination of suede, full grain leather and airflow mesh. We released two styles to an edition of 196 pairs, each featuring notable details such as a contrast white saddle and the now familiar gold 'N.

What is the Vault and what was up with the green colourway?

Initially we designed 3 colourways but due to some difficulty meeting factory minimums, one unfortunately had to go. Reluctantly the green was dropped and only the navy and red were manufactured. However New Balance Japan liked the style so much they took up the production of the green colourway and the shoe was released as a special edition in the Far East. ( subsequent NB SMU's are now produced only once). Upon its launch, sneaker heads across the globe quickly picked up on the 3rd? model, and although never an official hanon release - was out there. The secret colourway!

The Vault.

The Vault includes our 'stash' and a short run of the green model from the allocated release. We opted in to piggy back on the production and pulled some as the style was to be manufactured once only. The opportunity arose to tag on to the line allowing us to hold all of our original colours.

All three can now be released as the original pack and the green ones are back home!

The Launch.

We have a short run of stashed vault stock which will be released this weekend. We dont have many and this is it. The last of them. If you missed out on the original launch in 2004 now is your chance to grab a pair before they disappear into sneaker folklore forever.

Saturday September 8th 2007. Instore from 10am. Up at 1pm (UK).

New Balance M576 model 25th anniversary

New Balance is celebrating the 25th anniversary for their M576. To start the M576 anniversary celebrations they got together with Atmos from Japan.

This New Balance M576 comes with a mostly black upper, lime green accents, mesh toe box, graphics over the upper, pattern over the back heel, a dope graphic on the tongue, and a custom inner sole design as well.

The sneaker will release on the 7th of September exclusively at Atmos.
